What is the difference between wood stain and wood oil?
Essentially, what differentiates oils from stains is that a stain will improve the appearance of the deck by changing the timber colour; while oil will enhance the current colour if you are wanting to leave your wood as is.
How do I seal wood without changing colour?
If you want to seal the wood without changing the colour, the first thing that you will need is a water-based polyurethane sealer. However, if you are not in favour of this, there is an alternative. You can use acrylic lacquer if you want.
