About Our Treated Timber Roof Batten

BS 5534 Timber Batten UC2 Treated

BS 5534 was introduced in 2015 and is a Code of Practice for Roofing, Tiling and Slating aimed at improving Batten quality, Batten performance and roof safety. BS5534 Battens are manufactured and graded and then are stamped compliant to the Code of Practice.

How to spot a BS5534 Batten

A genuine BS5534 Graded & Stamped Batten will be stamped with;

  • BS5534
  • Supplier/Sawmill Name
  • Species Code
  • Origin

Why Choose Champion Timber Battens?

Our BS 5534 Graded and Certified Premier Roof Battens are easily recognized by their yellow color, a clear indicator of compliance with strict British standards. Coloring is used by different manufacturers (yellow, blue, or red) to help differentiate from non-compliant Type A green battens, unsuitable for pitched roofing. Each batten comes with a full Manufacturer's Declaration of Performance and UK Declaration of Conformity for guaranteed compliance.

What Are Roof Battens Used For?

Our treated timber battens are not just for roofing. While their primary role is to act as a fixing point for roofing materials like shingles or tiles, they are versatile enough for general-purpose use. They’re perfect for fencing support, small garden structures, and more. With Champion Timber, you can rely on the quality and durability of our products, whatever your project.
